Agenda

The next generation of Model Based Enterprise (MBE) builds on the successful and evolving use of digital product models and data to create continuity across functions including supply chain, finances, material planning, sustainment and systems engineering. It requires numerous model based digital threads woven together, which make data quickly available to every node of the enterprise and populate rich stores of product, process and business data used to generate insights through analytics. In complex industries such as Aerospace & Defense, the system of record for many of these models is an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Focus on integration between Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Manufacturing must now be expanded to robust and high speed integration between Manufacturing and ERP as it forms the crucial link in the chain of MBE 2.0 digital continuity.

Discussion highlights:
  • Current state of aerospace enterprises and what would it take to pivot to a highly cohesive, low friction model based enterprise/MBE 2.0
  • The interplay between OT and IT systems to ensure a high degree of collaboration. Aspects of private cloud and government cloud will play to improve operational efficiencies
  • Decision makers in this new ecosystem
  • Role of IT in driving standardization, agile methodologies, quick pilots and driving scale
  • Shift from automation to autonomy with minimal human intervention and its impact of responsive architectures
  • OT/IT collaboration to migrate legacy systems to a single/unified digital platform

Discussion questions:
1. What is the current state of the aerospace industry, in reference to the model based enterprise/MBE 2.0, and what would it take to pivot to the next level?
2. How are you ensuring alignment and collaboration?
3. What are the key restraints, which exist today, that prevent you from shifting to a circular value-chain model? Ex: Data sharing hurdles, rights and ownership, Integration into legacy engineered products, Supply chain incorporation, Product sustainment?
4. How can digital transformation be accelerated with the right incentives?
5. What is the role of IT in driving standardization, agile methodologies, quick pilots and scalability?
6. Can the digital twin concept be extended beyond assets to systems, processes and organizational structures?

Together, we expect to hear compelling industry examples, use cases, and best practices. Based on past experience we expect you to leave with fresh ideas and takeaways, along with valuable new connections with industry leaders. Frost & Sullivan will produce an exclusive Industry Insight, capturing group thoughts and commentary from this event.
